Hardware Order System at Extron Electronics

The Challenge

The customer purchasing process needed improvement when the product line was updated.
  • Clearly define project goals
  • Build a team and collaborate for the first time via daily stand ups
  • Communicate UX principles for first time to the team.

The Solution

Since very little was known about the customer or the ordering process I began to better understand them by interviewing internal stakeholders with strong customer relationships. Using the data from those interviews, I conducted an affinity diagramming session with my team to synthesize the data. This was the first time our department had collaborated on a project. Once the workflow was confirmed, wireframes were developed and iterated several times. The final steps included hi-fidelity comps by the visual designer.
